Monz is munching on scones at home ("no formal lunch") because he and his hon are off to beautiful and historic Galena for some big Illinois State Bar Association shindig.

Speaking only for the editorial staff (Monz is a football fan), we appreciate Cub fans who don't buy into this "oh, I'm rooting for the White Sox because I'm a fan of the city" or somesuch nonsense. The true spirit of the Cubs/Sox rivalry is embodied by the sports editor, who earlier this year transfered the infamous eigth inning of Game 6 in the 2003 NLCS to DVD.
