Done Is Better Than Best!

The editors sadly stumble to the brightest, shinniest time of the year this side of Christmas: Monz' two week May guest blogging stint! Monz doesn't stumble with Mcdougall's black bean and lime, apple, minneola, & banana.

Your 85 Chumps!

We don't know about you, we don't know about Monz, but we're tired of hearing tired middle-aged athletes who were on the Chicago Bears Super Bowl (tm) team make oblique reference to that fact by saying things like "Hey guys, Leif Jumpedashark here from your '85 champs." Come on guys, get back in the game. You can start by imitating Monz' Mcdougall's split pea, apple, minneola and banana lunch.

Because!

Scot Adams reports that scientific studies have shown that people are more likely to do something if they are given a reason, even if the reason is stupid. So if we told you to eat a healthy and yummy lunch, mmmmaybe you'd do it. If we told you to eat a health and yummy lunch because it will help contain the swine flu, the chances of you doing so would uptick. But we here at MYL know how to seal the deal: Monz had a lunch of Dr. Mcdougall's black bean & lime soup, apple, minneola and banana.

Cerrrr-ackkkkk!
Some reasons questioned the relevance of yesterday's Stalin-related post to our trip to Disney world. Well, the MYL crack investigative unit has done it again -- traveling to parts of the Magic Kingdom rarely visited by such inquisitive scholarly minds, they discovered this document of a meeting of Soviet propaga...film makers, Walt Disney. So when you see those "Hidden Mickeys" all over Orlando (our favorite: the electrical transformer near Kissamee), just remember that the twisted vines of history run long and deep. As did the satisfaction of Monz' homemade veggie burger and Fantastic Foods spicy Thai soup.

Kids Don't Follow! While in Orlando, the editors came across a story about how Stalin did not want people to know his lunch. Say no more: Monz was at home for a Fantastic Foods (tm) Baja Bean Soup and a veggie burger. Try making that lunch with a Five Year Plan!

The Happiest Lunch on Earth!

So the editors were at the Epcot Center world festival and found ourselves, well, a little suspicious of some of the cuisine at the less expensive establishments. Like, in Morrocco, do they really have espresso with nutmeg and cinnamon? And call it "Moorish style"? We were feeling a bit down as we approached the space training "ride" and read the stern, repeated (and repeated and repeated) warnings not to do the "orange"/"intense" training if you had any doubts whether you could withstand the accelleration forces. Humbled and shamed, we went for the allegedly "still intense" "green" training. But as we shuffled out, we thought of the Monz, we became inspired, and we headed back for the orange training. Motion sickness be damned! And with Monz' munificient help, we triumphed! The happiest lunch on earth is the one you keep. Monz kept faith with the good Doctor (tortilla soup), an apple and banana.

Pindrop!
Shhh. Hush now. Listen. Can you hear it? No, be quiet and listen. That deafening roar of silence is the reaction of lunch blog wannabees to the mighty precision lunch of the Monz: Fantastic World Foods brand Spicy Thai soup; She-Who-Cannot-Be-Named-prepared apple slices and celery with hummus; rice yogurt and banana.

It's Getting Better All the Time!

Man those clementines were mean, but they're chaning their scene: two good, one bad. Main attraction was the good doctor's pad thai soup. Hardly irrelevant was the banana and apple.

Any Footlong!

This is just so wrong. Monz heads to a busy professional society meeting and reports: "they catered in Subway. so I had a few small cut chunks of various subways, including one with way too many onions."

Well, Maybe Soon!

We suspect there were difficulties with yesterday's instructions but really, if we modified them they wouldn't have the same epiphanic effect. Today Monz had Mcdougall's pad thai soup, apple, banana, and, in sympathy, the clementines were all nasty.

O2!

If you can, get yourself at least 25 miles from any metropolitan area larger than 1,000,000 people. Also be sure to be at least 3,050 yards from any well trafficked, or even moderately trafficked, road. Now take a deep breath, deep as you can, hold it for a moment, then exhale. Now, tomorrow have a McDougall's black bean and lime soup, banana just off the ripe, clementines and apple for lunch (like the Monz) and tell us how it worked out! As if we needed to know...

The Doctor Says He's Coming But You Got To Pay In Cash!

Monz' lunch is delayed as he is called into action to a doctor to help mans' best friend, then get's a doctor for himself: small size Dr. McDougall's "chicken" soup and "it's all good"(tm) veggie "beef" skewers. And it was (all good, that is).

Monkee Business!

In these challenging times, one must be ever vigilant against laziness. Thus we were saddened when we saw the spirit that permeates some lunch blogs (we're looking at you, Ricky) manifests itself in fortune 500 companies such as Dreamworks studios. For example, in the new film "Monsters vs. Aliens," some Big Ear-Wannabe decided that
the theme to the Monkees tv show would make for catchy kids music. Smart move. So then they farmed it out to some college grad morons who figure kids are stupid and will eat up just about anything, and came up with this:

Hey-Hey we're the Monsters
Coming to save the day
Teaming up with the humans
Doing it the monster way

Yes, we know, it doesn't fit. The goon boy chorus just lazily stretches out the syllabuls when necessary.

In contrast, Monz' lunch is a study of discipline. McDougal's Pad Thai soup, jazz apple and two clementines, fresh and juicy, not lazily selected, later to be discovered as dried-up, shriveled and nasty.

[[Apropos of little, the original Boyce/Hart version of the song can be found

New Sensations!
In a fit of energmotion, Monz pitched his planned mcdougall's split pea, jazz apple, and clementines, when he saw at the local deli an avacado cheesburger with...
squeezable bacon! Upon the first bite Monz was heard to exclaim this!
