Lies, Lies, Breaking My Heart!
Why does Miller continue to lie to us? Since the crack MYL staff exposed their Light Beer charade, they've distributed posters for Miller High Life with that jovial-yet-insincerely-proletariate delivery man ("honest beer at a tasty price") saying "DELIVERED JUST FOR YOU!" You, dear reader, and we both know that beer was not delivered for us -- let alone JUST for us! Thank Goodness Monz doesn't lie: Fong's for some flexatarian cashew chicken with hot and sour soup and fried rice. "Decent."

Travelin' Man!
Canada Mondays continues with a trip to our northern neighbor even Monz would enjoy! Just as Monz enjoyed his excellent and seasonal Campari lunch of a muffaletta sandwich and pumpkin soup.

Monz-made peanut butter & blueberry jam sandwhich on Whole wheat bread, with a banana and a honeycrisp apple. "It will be yummy."

Roll Out the Barrel!
Monz reports a sad lunch of a Subway veggie delite (ironic, that) on wheat. "Ugh. Sick of Subway." As it turns out, our Aussie research knows the reason why. You see, the veggie delight is Subways attempt to turn salad into a sub, straying from its intrinsic salad-ness. In Melbourne, Australia, we discovered the "Salad Roll" -- which doesn't merely turn sandwich fixins into a sandwich but goes the whole salad mile (or should we say "kilometer") by cramming in the ENTIRE array of salad vegatables and offering a full range of salad dressings.subway veg delite on wheat. On a artisan french roll, no less. We demand similar excellence for the Monz and ask that somebody forward this post to Subway's director of franchise control.

We're Back, Like a Recession Centerfold Model!
The editors return from their Australian research junket and read in the NY Times about research showing Playboy centerfold models tend to look heavier and otherwise "more accessible" during periods of recession. Monz' lunch looks as exotic as ever, as She Who Cannot Be Named crafts a melange of asparagus, red & green peppers, potatoes, carrots, zucchini, & eggplant. Plus a fruit selection for dessert. "Yum!"

Beds . . . Are Burning!
Another week; another meeting; another slice of cheese 'za from the county cafe with Sprite Zero(tm). Actually this one was better than usual so that was nice. The meeting was hampered by lack of necessary parties, though.

Diesel . . . AND DUST!
Another scavenged lunch of two small veg-loaf slices on some french bread topped with veg-cheese, capped off with some vegan choc mousse. Surprisingly yummy on an otherwise dreary day.
By the way, YLDD.

Crikey!
Today's lunch involved chili from Plato's, which was very good on this frosty cold day. The editors, however, continue to bask in the globally warmed spring of the southern hemisphere.

Bloomin' Onion!
As the editorial staff check from Australia, telling me about their adventures tracking rare and alien animal species as well as their interactions with the locals, I have a scavenger lunch (in honor of said rare creatures) of leftover Lou Malnati's cheese pizza and some vegan chocolate mousse from Whole Foods. It was very good, but not, I guess, as yummy as some of the editor's grub in the exotic restaurants there, though they are sparse on their dining details. They also note that it is a warm spring there.

Beds are Burning!
As the editors traverse the barren wastes of the great outback, watching intently for dingoes, I am here dining on lasagna and garlic bread from the County St. Cafe. It was good! See for yourself!

If You Want Blood...!
While the editorial staff get their bearings down under, where everything runs backwards, I'm told, I will be filling in to guest blog my own lunch. Today I'm having homemade black bean soup with lots of carrots in it and a honeycrisp apple, plus two tiny boxes of leftover Halloween Dots.
Here's hoping the staff get out and see some Australian Rock n' Roll!

Lap of Luxury!
A sense of normalcy begins to return as Monz lunches at Subway for a veggie delight with hot peps and dijon mustard.
Today's post is by the Travel Editor, who shelled out $50 big bucks to wait out a six hour layover at LAX at the American Airlines Admirals Club. And at least at the moment, he thinks it's worth every penny (though he doesn't remember the Traveler's Club at Reagan National Airport in D.C. being quite so luxurious). Tons of comfy seating, many with electrical outlets. Free wifi with decent speed. Free computer stations. Free soda, juice, and snacks. A bar. A shower (!). A video room for the kids (and adults, but no hard liquor allowed). If he has one quibble, it's some of the high-power patrons don't recognise the "Quiet Area" signs in the quiet area, but they are relatively fleeting.

TUCKER(ed) OUT(back)!
Because the need of the world to explore yummy lunches for the Monz and his loyal readers knows no bounds, the MYL staff is heading to Australia in search of new cuisine for the Monz (and little else). Monz sees us off by feasting on Amy's black bean enchilada and a honey crisp apple, complemented by a decaf diet Dr. Pepper (tm). "All in all a cornucopia of flavors as diverse, as wild, as unregulated as the imagination!" -- and he's not just talking about the DP!
